On-the-spot fines are in place to crack down on fare evasion and anti-social behaviour on the CityRail network.

RailCorp Transit Officers regularly patrol trains and stations, and have the
authority to issue on-the-spot fines. They also have the powers of arrest and
work closely with NSW Police.
If you have been fined you will have been given a penalty notice with
payment required within 21 days. Payment can be made to the State Debt Recovery Office by mail, phone or online.
